Thoughts about Technology

I was thinking about the day when technology will do everything for humans. With a click of a button everything will be available: food, art, music, entertainment...What will happen with humans then? Will they become better?

I was thinking that, if everything is available and made by robots or other non-humanoid technology, would it possibly be end of humanity? Because I think that the essence of humanity is creativity. Take away the possibility to be creative from humans and you will destroy them. 

With no possibility of creativity human being easily becomes apathetic and depressed. Imagination, curiosity and creativity lead humans to new developments. Denying those to human beings leads to deterioration of human race.

Fortunatelly, there is no need to be very afraid of technology. There is simple truth about technology: it has failures and malfunctions. Every pessimistic view of new technologies assumes that technology will never fail. To our luck, it is simply not true. Even the best technology has its life cycle. Besides, human beings can always decide to destroy all technology or, at least, lower its impact.

Good thing about technology is that it connects people now more than ever before in the past. People are more aware of each others and that's a good thing. And as Matt Mullenweg said: "Technology is best when it brings people together".

The Secret of Freedom

What is your idea of freedom? For me, freedom means living honestly and truthfully in the way my soul tells me that is right. Freedom is living my life surrounded by people who love me and respect me for who I really am. Freedom means that my time and energy are appreciated and not wasted or misused. 

It costs nothing to be a decent human being. Being free means to be decent, yet able to grow personally without constraints. Freedom means to live the life my heart and soul desire without hurting any other living being (except mosquitos, I can't stand them). 

Freedom is about finding yourself and liking what you have found. You can't be free if you hate yourself. Loving myself as I trully am gives me freedom. 

Money can't assure you freedom. Just opposite, it can make you slave. Money can't buy you happiness, nor can it buy you good health. It can buy you a house but not a home, it can buy you a bed, but not a sleep. It can buy you a clock but not time. It can buy you a book but not knowledge. Money can buy you a position but not respect, clothes but not elegance.  Money isn't everything. Many people think they will be free when will have a lot of money or when they retire. Wrong. If you don't feel free now with as much money as you have now, you will never feel free. 

Freedom is enjoying in present moment even if that moment is only that is left to you. Free soul has no limits, neither in space nor in time. Hamlet (Shakespeare actually) said: "I could be bounded in a nutshell, and count myself a king of infinite space". That's what freedom really is. It's about us, not about outer conditions.

About Dreams

The day spent in dreaming is not the day spent badly. Have a confidence in your dreams! No dream is too big. Dream a lot, then wake up and pursue your dreams!

The best thing that can happen in our lives is to see our dreams coming true. It doesn't matter what do you dream about - true love, perfect home, fantastic job, being rich, traveling... Whatever you dream about, believe in your dreams. Your dreams are your future!

Love your dreams. Think about them when awake. Don't think they are silly or impossible. Only you can make them real!
